This week we feature “Surviving Columbus: The Story of the Pueblo People,” a Vision Maker Media program that tells the story of the first encounter between the Spaniards and the native people of the Americas from the perspective and the voices of Pueblos.
The program explores the history of the Pueblo people, from their lives under the Spanish colonial period through Mexican independence and, eventually, under the U.S. government. The two-hour documentary includes stories from elders, interviews with scholars and leaders, archival photographs, historical accounts and re-enactments.
Watch “Surviving Columbus: The Story of the Pueblo People” on the American Archive of Public Broadcasting website.
